My scaleup story: Stephen Allen, The ATACC Group

Q
How did you know you were ready to scale and why did you apply for Two Zero?
A

The ATACC Group delivers cutting edge and uniquely innovative medical training programmes, empowering people to save lives.

Three years in business had given us the time to prove the concept and test our material in-depth. We felt it was the right time to roll this out to a wider audience, both nationally and internationally.  We applied for Two Zero to support the next stage of our expansion.

Q
What have you learned through the programme and how has your business grown?
A

Throughout the programme I have learned that collaboration is key in these testing times. A problem shared amongst likeminded professionals is definitely a problem halved.

Since engaging with the programme, the business has gone through significant change with a new senior management team being introduced and a refreshed strategic direction agreed which has led to new contracts in the public sector.

Q
How did coronavirus challenge your business and how did Two Zero help to manage that?
A

Covid has impacted the business dramatically, we have seen a huge reduction in the demand for face to face training and have been forced to think differently. Two Zero has enabled me to make new connections and learn from the experience of others.

Q
What’s your plan for the next three years?
A

Over the next three years, The ATACC Group has ambitious plans to expand internationally and embed ourselves at the heart of local communities, empowering people to save lives.

Q
What are your top three tips for companies who want to scale their business?
A
  • Keep it simple
  • Be passionate about what you do
  • Don’t be afraid to make tough decisions
