Innovative Lancaster manufacturer, Chiptech, has been crowned winner of this year’s Scaleup Award and Medium Business of the Year Award at Lancashire Business View’s Red Rose Awards 2024.
The annual awards ceremony, which is hosted by leading business magazine, Lancashire Business View, took place at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on Thursday evening (March 15) and was attended by over 1,000 representatives and leaders from the county’s business community.
The Scaleup Award recognises the best of the Lancashire’s high-growth businesses, which must be able to demonstrate at least 20 per cent annual growth.
It was sponsored by business performance consultancy, Cube Thinking, which delivers Two Zero’s Scaleup Leaders Network, a tailored scaleup programme which provides support and advice to around 50 Lancashire scaleup business.
Chiptech has recently moved into a new headquarters at Palatine Hall in Lancaster. It manufactures and sells a range of digital assistive technology products aimed at lone workers and elderly people to local authorities, housing associations and insurance companies across the UK.

Chiptech has continued its expansion and has doubled its turnover each of the past two years, growing from £4.1m in 2022 to its current £16m. The business is now aiming to almost treble in size over the next three years.
Several companies which have received support from Two Zero were shortlisted for an award, including digital transformation consultancy, Sundown Solutions (Scaleup Award), business coaching and consultancy organisation, Forward Thinking (Micro Business Award), storage provider Brysdales (Export Award) and events venue, The Wellbeing Farm (Environmental, Social and Governance Award).
CoolKit, which has taken part in Two Zero’s Scaleup Leaders Network, won this year’s Transformation Award and was a finalist in the Made in Lancashire Award.
In addition to Chiptech, the companies shortlisted for this year’s Scaleup Award were Cavity Extraction, LANX Group, Sid Hill Transport, ST&R and Sundown Solutions.
