Lancashire scaleups’ opportunity to help shape support landscape through influential survey

Fast-growing businesses in Lancashire have the chance to influence how the public and private sectors support scaleups by taking part in a national annual survey.

The ScaleUp Institute’s Scaleup Survey, now in its 11th year, is designed to gather data to help understand the barriers that scaleup businesses across the UK face, so the ScaleUp Institute can work with regional and national policymakers and other partners to remove these.

It is the largest survey of UK scaleups, with hundreds of businesses taking part annually.

Scaleup businesses in Lancashire are being encouraged to take part this year, ahead of the new UK government’s first budget on October 30, to help shape the future of scaleup support over the coming years.

Amin Vepari, business finance and scaleup lead, Lancashire County Council, said: “Each year, the Scaleup Survey provides important data which influences policy and support for scaling business across the UK. In previous years, the results have influenced developments like the Scaleup Visa and the Future Fund Breakthrough.

“We’re keen to ensure the voices of Lancashire scaleups are heard in national policy discussions, and this year’s survey is particularly crucial, with the new government shaping its business support policies ahead of its first budget and other political announcements.

“I would urge all fast-growing Lancashire businesses to participate.”

The deadline for completion of the survey is September 30. Businesses can complete the survey here: https://bit.ly/479VaqY
